• Is covered with coarse hair and spikes called spines. Ouch, don't touch!
• Likes to eat ants and termites.
• Has a long, skinny snout, which is both its mouth and nose - its like breathing through your mouth. Oh, and a really long sticky tongue.
• The longest recorded lifespan for a captive echidna is 50 years.
