Mighty, the Antarctica Midge Facts:

• 2–6mm (0.079–0.24 in) long. Do you think you could see it?
• Is the largest purely land animal in Antarctica, as well as its only true insect.
• Does not fly, so it does not get blown away.
• Can survive without oxygen for 2–4 weeks, and requires a freezing climate to survive. Lives for up to two years but is only an adult for 10 days!
